The major consists of eight 4-point courses for a total of 32 points. Students are also required to complete a second major in the College of Arts and Science. Thus, all journalism majors are double majors. Students pursuing the honors program take one additional journalism course, completing nine 4-point courses for a total of 36 points.These four courses must include one (and only one) introductory course (PHIL-UA 1-8), and one course from each of the department's three subject groupings: Group 1: History of Philosophy. Group 2: Ethics, Values, and Society. Group 3: Logic, Epistemology, Metaphysics, Mind and Language.Transfers: Up to 64 credits. After you are admitted, the school, college, or department that admits you will determine how many college and high school (if applicable) credits will carry over. Credits/points obtained through a certificate program or a vocational training program will not likely transfer to NYU.Scholarships and grants are types of financial aid you don’t have to pay back. NYU offers or recognizes many scholarship options, including programs for new students, current NYU undergraduates, and scholarships from outside sources. In addition, NYU schools and colleges award their own scholarships. Scholarships for Incoming Students. Advanced Placement (AP), A Level, International Baccalaureate (IB), or equivalent credits place students out of one or both of Introduction to Macroeconomics (ECON-UA 1) and Introduction to Microeconomics (ECON-UA 2) and also count towards the total number of courses required for the major or minor. For AP, a score of 4 or 5 is acceptable.

Transfer Credits. Undergraduate students may apply a maximum of 64 transfer units toward the Gallatin degree. Cross-School Minors. From its position at the center of a major university, the College of Arts and Science (CAS) is able to offer a variety of minors in partnership with NYU's professional schools.
